Yeah, that part can use some explanation. There are leafy fern plant things. Put 4 of those in a single pile, and you get the ability to make a sleeping spot.
Nah, just walk up to one of the adults, inspect it and then switch. You can switch between all members of the tribe.
From starting auto switches if you put child in hiding spot, otherwise in camp go to adult, click analyse then switch. You need 4 pieces of the correct plant to build a sleeping spot. Grab them one at a time, go to the flowers under bridge, drop one, then each other one you target the first and add to pile. Then hold construct button on said pile to build it.
For the 100 or so hours I (and many others) put into the game at launch, it was not a option. You *had* to hide.
