Anybody else find the emerald at the first camp?

Works great for opening coconuts. (haven't found out what else it's useful for)

I found it also - there are other precious stones to be found. No idea whats its for - Make sure you have one of your primates holding it when you decide to move your camp.

I heard the only difference is you get an evolution achievement when you find one, and they're indestructible. Other rocks can shatter if you do the quicktime crafting event wrong.

Find one of each and you've found them all.

Found a yellow precious stone ontop of a mountain peak by the ocean.

Red stones along the cliffs of the savanna and one at the peak of the plateau going into the canyon.

Yup, just found the emerald up a few plateaus on the other side of the waterfall by the start base. Unlocked an evolution achievement.

There are quite a lot of the same ones in same type locations... for example emerald is often on the peaks and lazurite is always in the passage of the underground cave and such.. unlike meteors - you don't need to find every single one.

Just a note, I just did a Generation change and even tho the emerald was at my base when i layed down to do the Generation advance, when it came back from the cutscene the emerald was gone, it may have been on one of the apes at the time, i forget but it's nowhere to be found.

Ive been able to keep my stuff through entire evolution time skips so long as I dropped them on the ground first.
