Eventually it will be time to progress to the next era and start over, as your original group's life expectancy will be too low to do anything beyond simple day-to-day survival.
All your babies will become adults, all your adults will become elders, all your elders will die, and you have to start the whole process over again with this "new" group (but retaining some of the skills your first group learned).
Your green circle will never fully be full again. You can replenish it day after day but it has diminishing returns. Life takes its toll on your ape and little by little it shrinks.
My was so shrink (30 or so days with the same ape) that I couldnt run for more than a few seconds. After a predator caught me off guard in the canyon region, only two jumps out of the way and my ape died from exhaustion.
It was a mad scramble to bring my clan back to that area to reclaim the lost babies.
Long story short. You need to maintain the next generation of babies so when you feel like your ready, you can move time forward to the next generation and start playing as a fully healthy young ape again.
You lose the neuron energy you obtained, but the actual unlocked skill points remain. You just have to reconnect them. You can retain some of these by "locking" them in the gene pool (locks are obtained through milestone experience).
That way you keep all of your advancements and you will get a much better Era score for having more births.
PS: hold down TAB to skip cut scenes.
This group didn't have a strong enough leader *wink* so that's probably curtains for them.
