Mimic Command to craft spears
This kills me. You can command mimic peeling a coconut, but anything else I've found that has more than one step they just wont do it. For the most part it's ok, but for the love of god I would die of happiness if they would mimic making a sharpened stick. Please someone tell me there's a second neuron that fixes this, or someone is in the process of making a mod that helps the jankiness of mimic command and the use of piles. I have spent combined hours now just making spears while I search for a good spot on the other end of the map.

I've got thesame question. I can have my entire clan rip a fresh stick off of a dead tree. I can have them all move it to their other hand, I can have them strip the branches off.. but as soon as they put it down, they can't seem to pick it up anymore.
Same goes for using piles. I'd LOVE it if they could put all their sticks down into one specific pile, or pick them up from one. Am I missing something?

It's just not in the game. I just assemble them all, order them to take a branch and strip it, then i corner them and command them to drop the stick, i sharpen every one of them and then manually give it back. It's a pain in the butt.

Got sick of it, gave them all bones now. ez gg wp.

They don't need sharpened stick anyway, just give them regular stripped stick.

Same goes for you, you don't need a sharpened stick, but it helps a bunch if you're trying to kill the animal instead of poking it. Clanmates can kill animals too, and will have a higher chance of doing so with a sharpened stick.

I also use them as weapon storage

Honestly, it only take two stick to kill an animal where I'm at, so at some point you don't really need to have sharpened stick.

One for yourself and the other clan members can just have unsharpened sticks and you're good to go.

ive killed plenty without sharpend stick in one hit. But your chances are better with a spear

There is a perk later down the road where it will allow more flexibility with having other members craft stuff while you have them mimic you. dont just assume that you cant. Try mutating and playing for a bit before thinking you cant do something.

It says so

The fastest way to teach them craft a Sharpened Stick would be to gather Basalt stone and add it to pile. Carry it with the help of two hands and return to a safe spot. Select a few members to be followed as the quantity is not sufficient for all the clan member. Alter the stone and craft a Chopper. Similarly, craft all the Basalt into a Chopper i.e. 8 in an instance. Without stripping of the dead stick branches, simply order them to hold the Basalt Chopper and switch the hands as per your action to alter and craft Stick and further Sharpened Stick with the help of Basalt Chopper.

try a dozen time but didn't get it to work yet...?

^I've never gotten it to work as that article describes - I don't think it's possible.

But as other people have said, even an un-*stripped* branch is enough to keep your clan safe out in the world. I've killed multiple things with a "raw" branch, it's just about luck.

Of course your chances to kill outright improve with a sharpened stick but these days I only go to the trouble of making a fully sharpened stick if I'm *trying* to kill something to make a Settlement area safer or to gather meat to eat (to advance my Omnivorous neurons).

i know, but i'd like to improve communication and mimic neurons...
