Lost entire clan, only a baby monkey is left. I'm stuck.
Hello,

I am having a very hard time with this game. I started a new game at my settlement and had 3 adult monkeys or so, and a baby.

The more I played and went exploring, the more monkeys I have killed. Now, I am left with a baby monkey and I have no idea what to do.

I figured I could advance a generation and let time pass, so the baby monkey can become an adult and all of the things adults can do in the game would get unlocked.

Instead, I am stuck at my settlement with the baby monkey, and when I put him to rest on the bed, I get no "evolution" option in order to advance time.

Any suggestions?

I think you're going to want to start over using the knowledge of the game you've gained so far to be more successful.

Be advised you don't have to explore with your clan - it's probably better to leave most (if not all) of them back at your Settlement until you've advanced your personal skills a bit.

I had a lineage that ended with a lone baby. I gave that up and started over. One thing I learned was to expend more energy in not getting killed. I would often die by just carelessly swinging from tree to tree at great heights. Or I'd jump to the ground without first checking for predators. Stupid mistakes. Just a few simple precautions can really improve the outcome.

Also, I found it was better to take as many apes out exploring with me as possible... for two reasons. First six or eight apes with sticks can easily scare off any predator. They might get bloodied but you shouldn't lose any. Second.. if you find a nice oasis you want to settle, you've got your whole clan there. You don't need to go back to get them.

I've started just two lineages and only the one ended in disaster. My second try is still going.

Good luck.

You could venture out in the world to find some new apes if you don't want to start over :)
You need to have an adult to be able to change generation.

I would recommend to start over, and only explore with like 2-3 apes at a time. I always use my elderlys for exploring, they bring a baby along and if one of the elders die it's ok cuz they will be gone by next generation anyways haha

Sounds like a restart situation. When I send apes out exploring, I like to use females that have had 2 babies. If it's a short trip I'll take 2 babies to maximize neuronic energy gained. If it's going to be a long trip, I'll only take 1 to minimize the risk of loosing more than 1.
On a long trip you'll usually max out your energy long before you get back home and don't really need to gain it faster.

The reason I use females for expeditions is that if they die with the child, their surviving mate back at the settlement can breed with a new female to replace the child. (if he can find an outsider to join the group)
If a male dies, his surviving mate can't have more children anyways (each female is limited to 2) and is just taking up space in the clan.
