I signed the ball. Evryone baller knows that no one wants the signature because of the player, but because a signed baseball-item will become invaluable down the line. Basebal curiosa are a commodity and it's nothing personal. Just money for whoever owns the item.
It's even better if the signee died, that's when the signed item really gets value.

I did it because even though he is making money off it, eventually someone (A genuine fan) WILL have it. It's like internet piracy, the means of it is negative but your product gets exposure because someone wants it.

In order for anything to have value, it has to be because someone wants it and there's a limited supply. No one is paying thousands of dollars for something they don't actually want or collect.
