I really sorta doubt they'll do that.. one element of this game appears to be the "Tetris" sort of notion of trying to cram your rooms into completely bizarrely shaped and nonsensically laid out buildings to try to make a functional hospital..

I forget which map it was, but there was one of the warmer ones that I was looking at going "jesus, this couldn't be more idiotically laid out for a hospital design"... fully half the space was completely useless. Fortunately, most maps aren't that bad..

Yeah one of the hot ones has SO MUCH wasted space in odd shaped hallways. Less a challenge and more just kinda brainless.

Have a look at most modern buildings and you will suddenly feel the urge to ask yourself why on earth architects even deserve to get paid so well.

The devs have stated in a one of their livestreams that while they understand that some players want the most efficient layout possible for their hospitals, that's not what they're going for. They want players to use the space given to them as best as they can within the constraints of the layout.

Yeah Grockel Bay has a very weird layout. Loads of corridors and stupid small 4x4 rooms you can't do anything useful with (I just threw down an Indoor Fountain them to make them look pretty for the Attractiveness requirement).

Melt Downs is the other 1 with its terrible layout, corridors and awkwardly sized rooms. Flemington is an annoying one because the paths between buildings are so long.

But this is part of the game. I can't see it going to change because you have to work with what you've got.

As stated here, it's not about effciency, and more about doing what you can with the space given. I agree it is definitely frustrating, but that's part of the charm. Theme Hospital was much the same way, it's just a design of the game itself. :3

Quick tip for Flemington. Don't build in the starting building. Buy the one either above or below it. That length is no longer a problem. :)

I do find it annoying that we can't put entrances where we want, or block them off with rooms. It's just annoying wasted space at the end of the day. Not really a challenge to me, if you're used to builder type games you're used to such things.

Maybe they would consider adding a sandbox level, once you get all hospitals with 3stars, you get a nice build your own Hospital including main walls/floor plan. Would be a nice "reward" for people who want to build the most efficient hospitals they can without having to play tetris with room shapes.
