Wards: how many beds/nurses do you need?
It seems like having too many beds overworks your nurse. How many beds can a nurse handle?

Don't know the exact answer. But something i just discovered is that having more than one changing room increases efficiency a lot. Not sure if more nurse' stations helps. but you can certainly have more beds than you need and be very inefficient about it.
2 Nurses can comfortably handle a ward of 6 beds. The trick is to not put too many distractions in the ward. Lockers, Hand Sanitisers, etc. They get animation locked fiddling with these and it slows down your turnover.

Edit: You only need to put 1 nurse station down, don't put more or they'll keep moving between them while ignoring patients.

How do you asign more than one nurse to a ward then?

Click the ward once it's built, you can +/- staff. Works for research lab and fracture clinic too.

Thank you. I never paid much mind to my wards and was wondering why they were always full. That explains why the ward in my barebones training hospital is doing so well.

I don't see why you need more than just one. If you want a decent turnaround in the Ward, opt for two screens so that patients don't have to wait long to get undressed, and place at least 3 beds, maybe 4, 5 tops.

Make sure you reach prestige 5, which is most important. I prefer 1 nurse for every 3 beds, with 3 nurses in the ward. I round this up to 10 beds and have two changing screens. Train your 3 nurses specifically for ward, and make sure they are assigned to work there.

Heads up that the same is done for Fracture Wards, Research Rooms and Marketing Rooms as wells.

Ratio is 1 nurse to 1 screen to 3 beds. If you want a ward with 6 beds, then you'll want 2 screens and 2 nurses. You can only have 5 nurses max so don't bother trying to build wards with more than 15 beds (and 5 screens). No matter how large or small your ward is, you only need 1 Nurse's Station max.

If you've come up with a design that's starting to get overwhelmed and you want to combine two of them into one single mega-ward, you can take the 2nd Nurse's Station and replace it with a coffee maker, a chair, and a Sweets Dispenser.

lol no. Just one. As said before, a nurse can handle about 6 beds, so a full team can handle about 30 beds. The things you need multiple of are changing screens as that helps a lot with traffic. As for other items don't put down any decor people can interact with except for food/drink.

Ive been doing it all wrong then... Ive been making wards with around 5~7 beds, 1 screen and 2 nurse stations.

I thought you'd need a station for each extra worker there... Good to know this.
