Contains Ransomware
I'm kinda getting a bit impatient with my virus protection software constantly crashing the game due to ransomware being detected within it since launch day. When I disable ransomware detection, the game runs fine and hasn't crashed at all otherwise. I've lost countless amounts of time due to this happening. Will it be fixed?

It is your antivirus that is causing the problem Not the game ! And the game does Not contain ransomeware. There is nothing to be "fixed" as your put it except on your end to stop your virus protection from flagging the games .exe as ransomeware. You have to add the games .exe to your antiviruses exclusion list.

Anti-virus fail.

Like the poster said above, it has nothing to do with the developers of this game. If whitelisting doesn't solve the issue than all you can wait for the AV definition updates or you can pester them to get it done.

Why is it that people blame the program instead of their AV? Anti-viruses are far from infallible.

Do you use bitdefender or kaspersky? That one just fails on so many levels.

I have BitDefender and not once did a game trigger any detection or warning.

They're called false positives.

@KittyKat - Slow down and chill. I wasn't being a noob whiner (I'm far from it) - I was merely pointing it out.

@Everyone Else - I use BitDefender and haven't had issues with anything else, which is the strange thing about it. I've tried whitelisting, but found that disabling ransomware detection works more efficiently. I brought it up with the support team and was told that the likely culprit is Denuvo since it acts in the same way that alot of ransomware does and could also be the root cause for alot of other people that are experiencing (seemingly) random crashes as well. Thankfully it's getting removed, so that will be the fix :)

Denuvo=Malware, BUT, if you see this...

We’ll be adding it to a beta branch first before migrating it over to the default branch.

I think it's a false postive.

@Zarm - The patch just downloaded for me, coincidentally enough lol However, I had pre-ordered the game since I ran into a hot deal to get it at 33% off and definitely wasn't going to pass up on it.

I was a huge Theme Hospital fan back in the day so I was beyond excited when they made the announcement for TPH. It really is an amazing game and definitely lives up to its hype (though some would disagree somehow). I can't wait to see what other changes and additions they come up with as time goes on :D

If you get a virus/trojen etc warning for a game file you can always use a website file checker to check if it a false positive. Heres a list https://www.malwarefox.com/best-online-virus-scanner/

System Mechanic used to prevent me from installiong some games, like Worms W.M.D, for example. Sometimes anti-virus software just detects false-positives.

He's probably using a pirated copy of an anti-virus program ;)
