Moving saves to a new PC
I’ve recently had some bad news and my laptop is heading for the great junk heap in the sky due to burnt out motherboard. I’ve sunk about 27 hours into Two Point Hospital and am terrified I’ll lose my progress when installing the game on a new PC.

Anyone know if there’s any way to retrieve your save game online? Is there any way to move the save files manually from one machine to another and if so, can anyone give me some pointers?

Thanks!!

Your save files are located in:

C:\Users\Username\AppData\LocalLow\Two Point Studios\Two Point Hospital\Cloud\#######\Saves

Just copy that folder to your new PC.

There's also cloud sync that Steam has, but I don't trust it, so I have it disabled.

What don't you trust about cloud saves?

I don't trust it to not overwrite a new save with an older one. I used to play Borderlands 2 and had an OP 7 Maya. One day, I jump into the game and my OP 7 is gone and replaced witha level 25 Maya that hadn't even made it through the campaign once.

If there is a save conflict steam will generate a popup asking you which version to keep. Anyway it is always good to have a backup of your pc's user folder. That includes documents and appdata.

Cloud sync is working very good. I'm using it for years with hundred of games, and never got any problems.

Please someone explain how to save and open saves. I lost all my work once when saving as new slot. How open it again, I can't see any option but deleting slots

When you quit the game you will see the savegame uploading to steam at the bottom of the steam UI.

I disabled my clould saves because I didn't like waiting for my skyrim saves going to the cloud when quitting the game.
This year my HD was gone. "puff"
I wish I had never disabled cloud saves it.

I now have more methods of backup, but I also let steam save stuff automatically.
