dying light one chases were also a joke, halfway through my last play through on a clean nightmare+ run i was fist fighting the volitiles for fun. Its less creepy because you're an older human who has dealt with it before years ago.
Dying light 1 wasn't a perfect game, we were all just alot younger when it came out, if a baby was born when it came out they would be 10, that means alot of people in their teens played it and were not super aware of alot of things when they played it... all games are more fun when we're younger. Dying light 2 isn't really a worse or better game, its perfectly on par.
you just got older and stopped having as much fun unprompted.
See I would agree it it wasn't for the fact that whenever I play Dying Light 1 I find the nights to be superior and fun no matter my age. The Dying Light 1 nights were claustrophobic with the Volatiles' roaming around, however if you figured out what you are doing then the nights become really fun.
Whether it was through...
-Sneaking through the night undetected
-Combating the overwhelming menace
-Or running for your character's life
Here its just not the same, I'm hoping that the update will change Dying Light 2's night time mechanics to be closer to 1's. Though I also know that people thought night time was too difficult and scary in Dying Light 1, which is why I also would be perfectly fine with some changes as well.
Maybe Volatiles', and Howlers' could trigger chases then at chase level 1 you at least have a single Volatile and numerous Virals chasing you, with no more chase Volatile spawns happening until level three like the current system. And if Volatiles are too difficult for players to deal with then its probably a balancing problem.
In a recent update we have increased the difficulty - nights are darker, and Volatiles roam around the city trying to hunt you down 👀
How do you like it after the changes?
No matter what weapon you are using, it takes a half dozen hits to kill one Volatile.
I'm putting on my nostalgia glasses. In DL1 you can 1-shot Volatiles right from the start using a DLC like the Ranger pack.
Back to DL2.
What really annoys me; why are there always so many changes? When will you stop "changing" the game? Like in month 59 in a 5 year support cycle?
One day there must be a core game with core mechanics and they have to stay that way.
Fixing bugs, exploits, adding new cosmetics and stuff, that's fine.
