Questions about modding
If I use nexus managed to add some mods for the game, do I need a different launcher to play it? How does it work?

My understanding of the process is:

1# - download from nexus the mods into nexus mod manager
2# launch the game from the manager

Is this it?

Some mods don't work with the manager, so you have to manually install them.
But overall, you can launch the game directly on Steam with the mods enabled on the manager and they should work

Will it disable achievements?

Also thanks for the quick reply

Achievements will not be disabled if you use mods, I've got many while using mods.

Oh that's fantastic to hear, I saw so many convenience mods such as no rain drop effect on your screen and more... couldn't wait to get them haha

There are some great mods.

I use one to increase the amount of biters during the day and another to cycle the weather, they really add to the game.

as a mod maker I highly recommend manually installing mods.

its easier once you understand it. and takes less steps overall in my opinion.

download, unzip copy paste into the respective spot. and done. wanna uninstall simply delete it.

I find vortex to be a bad option for modding for the most part. as most games have an alternate mod menu or manual installing process that is cleaner and just better overall.

As someone who is not a modder but has modded a lot of games over the years I agree.

Modding manually means you know for sure the mod has been placed where it is supposed to be and you then know where it is if you wish to remove it. While I am not completely against Vortex sometimes mods do not install properly and will not always delete properly.

Modders are great at explaining exactly where their mods go and if you have a prob;em you can always ask, I have always found people not just modders to be very helpful on the Nexus.

When it comes to DL2 its a very easy game to mod as most mods go in the same place.

Does modding disable multiplayer? I assume it does but I'd figure I'd ask anyways

No, modding does not disable co-op, in fact if you are hosting people will be able to see the changes the mods you have used make, well in some cases like for example if you use the mod to increase biters during the day.
