I love the remothered series! each game improves in story, graphics and scares! can't wait to buy the remastered of the 2 previous games!

Jesus this game story is crazy and very disturbing 😭

TLDR: DO NOT buy this game. INSTEAD GO SUPPORT GOODBYE SWEET CAROLE AND CHRIS DARRIL. Also, most (if not all) the steam reviews are botted/bribed.

To start this review, I'm a very big clock tower and remothered fan. I love anything Chris darril and his work. I was very excited to hear that the series was getting picked up so we could learn more about plot holes and new storylines. To my surprise, the trailers looked good and I've waited a while for anything at this point, So I played the early play tester and demo builds. They were pretty good but very flawed. Just like everyone else, I submitted feedback for the playtest (which was only about a month from release which already tells me they aren't taking feedback seriously.)

pretty much just a rant: Fast forward to playing the game, its a mess. There is no fixes or feedback accepted from play testers in the discord or feedback form. The game does not honor the originals at ALL. It even takes a step to go away from the hiding mechanic (which is the whole point of remothered) into a trashy silent hill f combat style. There's no point in hiding if you can stun the stalkers easily and get out Scott free. With that in mind, you can speed run this game in about an hour if your confident in fighting back. The graphics are also just not remothered at ALL. The graphics are so unoptimized that you would need a nasa pc in order to play this, and even then, its not even in the style of remothered so there's 0 point in playing anyways- To continue this, Rosemary Reed is selfish in this game for some reason?? Like yes the person who went out of their way to find a missing person and going through so much trauma would just leave Susan for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cigarette. On the topic of Rosemary, she looks so weird. I know she's aged and old, but it doesn't even remotely look close to her.

GAMEPLAY: I'm not joking you, more than half the game revolves around finding keys that are IN THE OPEN WITH 0 CHALLENGE. This was a main complaint with demo/beta testers, and it was not solved at all. The atmosphere feels unfinished and rough unlike the first 2 games warm fuzzy aesthetic. Its amazing that you could make a two year old watch the gameplay and fall asleep safe and sound. There is not fov slider and you are stuck breathing on Susan's neck the whole game. Animations are also really clunky looking (same with the other games, but they were not worked on by this big of a dev team) Also, Cinematics and some animations are capped at 30 and 60 fps for some reason.

Sound and music: Again, not joking you, there is this faint ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clicking noise that will just not stop and I think its from the puzzle section where you freeze the 4 turning cylinder things since they have the same noise. Akira Yamaoka... you disgraced the entire remothered trilogy from these tracks alone. For starters, there is only one vocal track and its not even the same warm slow paced song as something like memory of you or hope on top of the world. It is modern silent hill slop. The ambient music is also a wanna be silent hill. Its laughable how they said he would uphold the music when he didn't even try to replicate the vibe and tone of remothered, and when he tried, it was pots and pans clanging together as some sort of new idea. They also try and reheat Tormented Father nachos when they played memory of you for 4 seconds. (like at point give us broken porcelain soundtrack on streaming)

Voice acting:
Cissy Jones and Maggie Robertson did a EXTREMLY well job in trying to tape this game back together from the ♥♥♥♥ they were given. Susan has voice lines for pretty much anything and her voice really fits her character. Nothing else to say other than thank you Cissy and Maggie.

Stormind games have showed they cant be trusted with Chris Darril's projects. Just like Chris, I would leave my own project if I had to work with this company. PLEASE I BEG, go play GOODBYE SWEET CAROLE instead of this unreal engine modern slop of a game. Also, don't buy and of the remastered versions unless you are a longtime fan since the ogs look better in everyway.

Dear Stormind games, if you know whats good for you, release Agata's bracelet as IRL merch and delete this game ASAP.
