Just bought the bundles for Azure and Sophie. Btw, loved the ending to ps3 Sophie. As much as I love my Vita and ps3 I'd gladly pay a third time to own those 2 arcs with Rurona and Dusk series on Steam. But let me throw my wallet for a remastered Mana Khemia and DS remake at my screen real quick. I'm sure if I do it enough times it'll hit someone upside the heads of these publishers to hear my willingness to part with my money for these!
Emulators are great and all but by the gods I want people to know the joys those games bring me and I'd love a remastered version with better clearer audio and cleaner anime intros or extended scenes. JUST SAYING.
Also mega props to Gust/NISA for releasing PROPER PRICED digital releases for these adorable smaller niche titles to Steam. Series hasn't changed much and I'm okay with that, especially given they aren't asking for 60 bucks where I don't get a cool collector's box like my ps3 games.
I just hope if they do remakes of this version down the road, their director's cuts, that we'll get the additions via free updates or fairly priced dlc, for those who bought the game obviously.
THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS FOR BRINGING THE SERIES TO STEAM! MAY YOU BRING FORTH THE REST SOMEDAY SOON!
They can only serve to gain profit porting them slowly over as SE does with it's myriads of FF re-re-releases. It'll help boost familiarity and fanbase as they do. Plus this new chapter in the series is very charming and pleasing to the eye. Nothing special over what you'd play on a ps3 or anything but it's got charm that games like Tales of hasn't had in some installments. Save new Besaria but I'll stick to consoles and being proud of buying that last one used to ensure my money doesn't go to Shamco. <3
More Gust and NISA RPGS please!
Just stagger the launches a little, there's a ton of the games.
I wanted those games to come, long ago (I had already played all of them and of course I wanted more people to know these games, especially Ar Tonelico ) but given how PC marketing is nowayday, I'm unsure.
You're underestimating PC gamer, the PC community populated by people with extreme high demand for perfect game. If they port any of those game without obvious upgrade, support all the possible function whatever out there in PC, those games would get bashed to the dead and it would only hurt the GUST's pride themselves. It's kind of opposite, having games on PC have both effects, not just good ones. I mean let's be honest here, who doesn't want to have better experience PC gaming over console?
I have great example too, look at Koei. They ported those games to PC because there used to be demand for them, but except they never told them they wanted a better version of their games, a lot better than console to be accurated. So they ported them and this is what they get, no one remember their false demand for a game, all they do now are just bashing company with any chance they have.
If you really want to play such game, two way. Buy console and a game, or do it a hard way like 95% PC gamers did and emulate them all. Ar Tonelico 3 is probably only possible game that can be ported to steam with some upgrade but I hardly doubt because there is another reason why they simply can not do it. Ar Tonelico is no longer under full authority by GUST, world has changed, Koei took over them. So even it's possible to remake them into HD, it has to be done under Koei's permission.
Of course you can say you're not caring about upgrading or stuffs as long as you can play them on PC. Yes there are some people like you, but not major. No honestly I haven't never seen anyone who only demand just for a game on PC, they all demand game AND must be way better than main platform itself.
As long as you don't take away features, everyone's normally pretty chill.
eh. as long as you can play flawlessly on 1080p@60 fps, I won't complaint at all.
on second though, 30 fps is still fine because someone will find a way to unlock it anyway.
Wasn't that existed for sometimes now? Ar tonelico 2 official localization had more than 70% voice cut from a game to make room for both languages and some fatal bugs so fans released a patch to return all a ♥♥♥ voice and fixed said bug.
Oh I remember why I don't want Ar Tonelico 2 to come to PC now. It's one of the worst localization in the gaming history, put all these Koei bad PC port to shame because Koei never goes that far to cut a content out of original game for porting their game. Actually it's not Gust fault, it's that something start with N... did all these.
