Maybe you played the Epic version of the game on this PC before and now there's something getting messed up due to old residual files or registry entries.
No epic launcher has never been installed on this PC.
- Uninstall the game
- %AppData%\Local\FactoryGame\Saved (your windows user folder)
- Delete EVERYTHING besides the "SaveGames" folder (this is likely overkill but i was pissed enough about doing it once i didn't wanna do it again)
Reinstall
NEVER touch the online settings button in the main menu (again might be overkill but i am pretty sure going in there and hitting the Epic Account button is what triggered this)
Problem is: Satisfactory doesn't support login timeouts (which seems like a huge security hazzard to me) so now my "Log in to Epic" status is marked "Pending", even though it's been 4 (IRL) days ago and I can't / don't log in. It keeps re-directing me to the login page each and every time, and eventually gives out an error in-game; but my status keeps set to "Pending".
I'm currently studying the config files in "%localappdata%\FactoryGame\Saved\Config\Windows" which I suspect to cause all this.
(edit)
Fixed it
Look into "GameUserSettings.ini", in specific this part: "mPreferredOnlineIntegrationMode=CrossPlay", this is what's causing the constant logon attempts. Remove this line, no more issues.
You may also want to check the end of this config file: it will list a definition for your Epic profile, which you no longer need.
This fixed the issue without a reinstall. Thanks!
