welp my saves are gone they are in the folder but dont show up in game

like the title says my saves are gone but are still in the folder i tried backups and still did not work when using the interactive map online and loading the save there it shows it correctly but still wont show up ingame so wtf is going on?

I am using the Experimental (Update 8) and I can't load games from Update 7, they don't even show up, it's because in Update 8, they've switched to a newer Unreal Engine 5.1, they've also stated they are actually going to upgrade to UE5.2, but I don't think there will be a problem between 5.1 and 5.2, Happy Pioneering!

welp ill try updating to update 8 maybe for some dumb reason it works but hope you can get yours to work

Max, NO! if you update to Experimental (Update 8) then you won't see or be able to load your saved games from regular Early Access (Update 7), that's what I thought your problem was, you had updated to Experimental.

Mine works fine, I just can't load the older files because of they are incompatible with the UE5.1 implemented into update 8, I don't care about older save files, I have like 6K hours of game play logged, and am used to starting new builds, even 400 hour builds! but if you have automatic updates set in Steam, it's going to happen pretty soon for everybody. no i didnt my saves just dont show up even tho they should they are in the folder and i even tried the backups i will just see if they show if yes good if no then they are propably corrupted and just for safety ill use a copy so it dosnt update the original if they work

Check if you've accidentally moved or renamed the folder that holds your saves. It should be in the FactoryGame/Saved folder and the folder should be called SaveGames.

Um, Im on U8 exp and I can load all of my saves from U7.

my saves are in that folder but do not show up in game i did not rename them and even when i tried using a backup it did not work

Try starting and saving a new game, and seeing where that save goes. Just to check that your saves are in the correct folder.

Also - you can take an Update 7 save file and open it in Update 8. But if you save a game in Update 8, you cannot load that game in Update 7 any more.

i checked it i took a pretty old save and tried it in update 7 and it is there now i only have to find out why the update 8 save wont work

This is actually not how it works at all. Update 7 saves load in update 8 just fine, Update 8 saves will not show in update 7.

yep also for some reason it works now even tho i did everything exactly as before but i gues the game thinks diffrent? anyways its working im not asking
