No. It's also why reinstalling will never solve any issues with your games: the 'data' (like save games and config files) is pretty much always stored elsewhere. Like in this case.

No worries.

Of course.. my only issue now is that I have clue where they store their stuff. Date stamps show me it's NOT in the progeram folder so you're defintiely safe.

(edit) Shizune to the rescue!! => %localappdata%\FactoryGame\Saved.

<whine> why the 'factory' vs. 'coffee'? ;) Oh well....

<vent> And here some peeps are whining about Steam dying.. looking alive to me! :)

Thanks Shizu!

The game also supports cloud saves, so even if you wipe your whole computer, Steam should restore your saves when you reinstall.

on the cloud you should not rely too much I save my game saves on two other computers

The answer for the location is in the Satisfactory Info pinned tab above. Just scroll down a bit to the General section. And no, I believe the save files are not touched by Steam. If you are worried, just copy and paste the files elsewhere on you PC for backup.

This was answered by others but typically nearly every game stores save games outside the games install folder. Its sort of standard way of doing things on windows so that any time you uninstall a game the settings and save game data is in a whole other place.

As to why the folder is called FactoryGame, I assume that was the working title before they named it Satisfactory, and they never changed it so they wouldn't break compatibility with earlier saves.

You would lose your blueprints, so you need to copy those over manually.

Save files are ok, they're synced to steam cloud.

the blueprints would be near the save files and also safe. what the person above was talking about was that save files also get sent to the steam cloud but blueprints will not...you will only find blueprints in your save directory but they will still be safe from uninstalls.
also I am not user but bear in mind that some uninstallers (maybe steam) might offer a uninstall option that removes even save files and other things...but such an option is never the default but some uninstallers will offer it.

i just reinstalled my game after like 3 years and my save file from 2020 is still available from when i last played.

Honestly though my base is messed up cause i dont remember what half of what is and a bunch of updates spawned inside of buildings so the save is a wash.

Not to mention so much has changed some of your factory might be inside a mountain now if you build in certain biomes back then. Also a ton of recipes changed alot of other things might also be broken. Its possible 3 years ago you didnt use water for coal generators.

The way things change in this game while in EA you really need to start over if its been more then 2 updates ago since you lasted played a save.
