Saved Games

So I have several manual saved games and auto saved games listed on the save menu but when I go to load a saved game the only file listed is the last manual save file. I want to go back and change a design layout but don't want to go through the hassle of tearing everything down. How do I load one of the auto saved points? And why aren't all the saved games listed on the load menu??? Seems stupid to have numerous saved and auto saved files listed on one menu but not the other????

Normally it should go like this:
Load => File with the name of the session => all saves listed
If you have any troubles, your save files should be located here: %LOCALAPPDATA%FactoryGame\Saved\SaveGames

So several are not listed even though you know they should be there?

Earlier this summer there was one guy that had the same trouble and he fixed it by first taking backup of the whole config folder, start the game once so it creates everything fresh, close the game, and then introduce those saves you want manually. (Kinda like profile change on Windows but it usually fix everything.)

Also, there are different menu items for different sessions, and on mine it actually changed when I went from completely offline to using Steam in the background.

Thanks for the assist Grandaddypurple! I don't think I've seen this format of load menu before, usually when you select a profile or session to play you automatically get the saved files for that specific profile when you go to the Load menu. So this game allows you to jump from one profile to another from the Load Menu rather than having to exit to the Main Menu to change profiles. That may come in handy when I get more than one profile going.

I believe that the autosave function, autosaves every 5 mins to only 3 files, 0,1,2; and it over writes them so actually if you don't manual save at certain stages of your factory, then the auto save is only going to cover a maximum of that last 19.99 minutes, depending on when it crashes, you die, or quit. There is usually an automatic autosave at your death an respawn, so acutualy it's only 10 mins prior to that, if that is the case. Moral of the story, make saves as often as you feel necessary during your construction.

If you don't want to start out "naked" and no inventory to retrieve your death crate, be sure to have a weapon, some heals etc in the personal inventory in the HUB if you do. But, you could just load either autosave01 or autosave02 which are timestamped by using the LOAD option instead of continue (autosave0) or "left click to respawn." Or of course, one of your own save files that you've been making before the event happened, you goofed up and don't like the design, you died, or don't want to dismantle the base/factory.

The files are in folders named after which ever profile that you created at the start of a new game on which ever spawn zone that you've selected, and they will have their own three autosaves unless you've deleted them.
