Is it more fun solo or multiplayer?
I love the game so far, It's a bit hard playing solo and wonder if it would be more fun playing with a friend/other player?

That's all on people's individual playstyles. Personally, I'm solo only. I like to just move slow and do my thing. Others like to work together on projects. And others like to build separate of each other until the system all connects. There is no "which is more fun" baseline

I find both fun, but multiplayer is slightly more enjoyable

I didn't like multiplayer, but it could be fun if each player creates his own base at opposite sides of the map, then trade resources.

While others come to the game for entirely different reasons, and a balanced team can be created playing up individual strengths. E.g., some people prefer a greater level of combat and exploration to others, so they'll be delegated to clearing the map. Others don't care for efficiency, but love squirting out machines, others care more for the planning and efficiency, others don't care for appearances, while some care a lot..

When playing MP, it's important the more experienced player take a lead and ensure everyone's on the same page. Playing with experienced players is a very different experience than playing with casuals. And playstyle needs to adjust / accommodate for that. If you're more experienced, or everyone is inexperienced/casual, it's easy to become frustrated and want to do as Ozone suggests.

That being said, I play alone far more than multiplayer, and prefer to. The control freak + perfectionist in me would have it no other way.. And I too go very slow..

Personally, I play games with my dad. I'm much more aggressive and chaotic than he is, and he's a lot more orderly and better at planning. We tend to work very well together, with me handling exploration and collection of new/rare/enemy-internal materials and him building the complex home systems and refining the nonsense I've put up as a temporary way of getting enough stuff.
In other words, I highly recommend multiplayer as long as you have somebody to play with.

The only good thing about multiplayer is setting long loops of hypertube thru irradiated area and watch ppl die in it.

But it gets old after few hours, so SP is imho better.

No idea about multiplayer, not had many friends to play this with.

Single player, well my base looks like LGIO half the time... so idk... to much stuff to make.

Since i disabled the multiplayer entirely due to that forced needless EOS crap, there can be only one valid answer.

I don't know how to get people to play with. But I guess solo since it's all i know and I like my own world since I know I am committed to my game save.

Individual preference. Multiplayer adds an element that you dont have control over. You leave your factory and come back later to find a new 'mall' and no longer know where to get more iron plates from. This might be awesome, or frustrating, and the only way to decide is for yourself.

I was solo for the longest time, with an off and on save where I managed power and long range infrastructure while he mathed out the most complicated factory i have ever seen in my life and he would randomly quit and I'd be so confused what he built, with 1.0 a friend was watching me stream over discord and had an anurism from how terrible my roads looked (i was just throwing generic stuff together while I waited for some mats to build up) she bought the game and has now been handling my roads, trucks, and trains bringing me more and more resources so the factory can keep expanding, and having a blast doing an open concept factory under the constraints of the terrain.

If you want to experience the game in full, go with solo. In multiplayer, things are being delegated to other players.

For me it's best done solo, even though I do maintain a LAN server. Issue is that my gf doesn't enjoy the game as much as I do (each to their own) but she does love the map and the overal looks of it.

So during my last (Creative) game she was fully into exploration, especially after she managed to find a mercer sphere and a drop pod. Meaning that she was also no where to be found, lol ;) So not too much different from singleplayer I'd say ;)

I'd say it really depends. IMO this game is best played solo or at least not played with randoms because different players wil lhave different ways of handling things.

I only play solo for this reason....

I care more about the numbers and making everything work smoothly, I don't care that all my buildings are boring squares. The last thing I need is to play with someone that wants to make everything look cool and pretty...

Or they refuse to help build something, or they decided to dismantle everything I just did.

Don't get me wrong, at times I do have the urge to want to play with someone or at least find someone that was willing to help me with the crazy insane project I'm working on but its not a must for me in any way.

I like to play co-op, sadly there a lot issues playing co-op...
Vehicles falling through the map, building pieces sometimes invisible for the building player, belts and autopilot trucks not syncing...

And more...
