Why no quick stack?
so many other games have the option to quickly add materials of the same kind out of your inventory to your storage containers. seems like a no brainer convenience.
Also seems pretty necessary as moving stuff just by shift clicking is slow, and you cant favorite stuff so it stays in your inventory while the other stuff goes with the store all button.

Control click and it'll move all items of the same type into storage; iirc this is mentioned in your HUD too.

That is not quickstack, quickstack is CTRL + empty inventory field = moves all stuff in the inventory that is already in the chest over. Which this game does not have ^^

You don't really put a lot stuff into storage containers in this game. At least I don't. I take things out and I don't want it all.

I’m pretty sure none of the top end factory games have what you describe

What's wrong with using the take all and store all buttons?

conveyor belts can do that better. No need to to do it yourself.

Aah, interesting. Thanks for the feedback, first time I heard of this though.

i like how everyone is typing this game doesnt need that because i don't use chests.
Satisfactory lacks a lot of QOL things and thats one of them. I feel like this game's key is not a comfort of playing, its 3d industrial art game, beautiful factories with beautiful walls signs railways

It would be a useful feature, but you learn to live without it. Also the longer you play the less use it would have anyway. There will eventually only be a few items that you will regularly collect and then put into storage, everything else you will either ignore or trash immediately after picking it up. Or send to dimensional storage.

That stores *all*. This is adding to stacks that are already in the container. Terraria does it.

yeah. you can kind of infer the game's focus by how most of the starter UI is really simplistic other than a snazzy looking centerpiece, like with the crafting stations. And stuff like "combat" is really just spamming two clicks with melee, or running backwards and shooting rebar (havent gotten the rifle yet). I almost feel like the game would be better off without the combat. Still enjoying the game immensely, just would love a QOL update for sure

Then what's wrong w/ CTRL-clicking on the item you want to move over, so it moves all the stacks that you have in bulk.

you gotta do this for each bulk stuff you have in your inventory. this would do all of it in one click. its a nice feature to have, and the UI has space for it underneath the other two buttons.

Think I got the idea:

A button on the container that says 'store all of the same product from inventory, but not all other stuff that is not in this container at the moment of clicking this button' (aka, ctrl+click is doing that, but you want it in ONE button click instead of two)

No, that is not what he/she is saying.
What is wanted is a button that transfers ALL the same items in your inventory that already has that material in the container.

Lets say you have rods, plates, concrete and screws in a container. What is requested it to only use one button at that time to move ALL of your rods, plates, concrete and screws from your inventory into the storage container, preferably without even having to open it.
In Valheim for example you hold down the "e" key (instead of tapping it to open the storage) and it does exactly that.
