Blueprints are not too good enough to work with them
Recenlty I started working with the blueprints to optimize my time building factories for tier 4-5 and thought that it would be great to have blueprints with adjustable height.

You can easily fit into 32x32 area the most basic stuff like 3 constructors and 2 assemblers and that output will be enought for your purpose - but there's still 32 meters in height you can't get rid off.

Any thougths?

Ah, I think I might understand what you're experiencing now - are you building in default or blueprint mode? You should be able to stack something like that easily in blueprint mode:

Height is hardly a problem with blueprints.

I fail to understand the issue here?

32 meters in height you can't get rid of? I really don't understand what you're trying to say is the problem.

Navigating all that empty space available on the map will probably prove challenging, then.

Let me clarify. For example I need to place a 3 reinforcement armor plate factories line by line. I can't do that efficiently using blueprints since it's enought to have 10meters height but the other 22meters still being taken by the blueprint.

And the same thing goes for any smaller parts of factories that need to be multiplied, but standart size of blueprint is an overkill.

So that's why I mentioned height, since it's typical problem I faced and dealt with, but also there might be different structures and shapes to be put in the blueprint and having adjustable blueprint sizes would gradually help with planning and building.

I'm confused how the 22m is being taken up by the blueprint if there's nothing in that 22m?

If you're building in blueprint build mode, they'll want to stack/snap based on their dimensions, but that doesn't include all available empty space that's remaining when you save the blueprint.

It's possible that I'm missing something since I'm not too familiar with blueprints. I'm adding the screenshot of the building I have (inside the walls there are buildings).

Could you please clarify, if I got it correct, it's possible to remove blueprint fence limiters in my case? So, for example, I can place the same blueprint on the top of that building without having a gap (that I laid with a redline)?

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I just realized that it's written that blueprints can be accessed from build tab. My bad, that was unclear at first sight

Well, that happens.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Exactly. I'm pretty new to using blueprints and thought that editor is the only thing to operate with the blueprints, but I read the description and found a tab Blueprints, from where I can build all the stuff I created before.

Thanks for the help!
