ctrl does not work as I have seen on youtube, I cannot make curves
Well, I'm trying to simulate the road tutorials but they all do something that no matter how hard I try, I can't replicate, with the ctrl button I can't get the platforms to rotate, none of them, they rotate on their axis and that's it.

I press and hold ctrl, I use the mouse and nothing, it rotates on its axis or rotates too much, I have looked to see if it was a mouse sensitivity issue, but no, I don't know what exactly they do.

I looked to see if it was pointing the camera but nothing, the truth is it's exasperating me a little.

For the love of God, I finish posting and testing I see that it is not "just press control and mouse", it is that you have to be pointing at the central axis of the plane, at the extreme where you want it to rotate, damn, they have NOT mentioned this In no video, damn it.

I'm afraid I don't understand what you're actually trying to convey.

There a few ways to make curves
The way most do it is with catwalks.
You Place a catwalk in the side of the foundation that is opposite the turn direction.
Turning right place a Catwalk on the Left corner. After that 1st one is place aim aim another catwalk at the one you just placed and hold ctrl and rotate the catwalk 5 degrees, then place 2 pieces in a line. you use these to attach the Foundation to make a curve.
As shown here

The other method is is placing a foundation, then on that foundation you can rotate the next foundation on top it by 5 degrees by holding ctrl.
But I don't know that one well enough to do.

Do what now? I managed to get the ctrl thing to work like once, and never again and couldn't figure it out. So where you’re pointing matters?!

How the F after all these years we don't have curved platforms is baffling.

They were busy finishing the real game 1st, I completely understand why they didn’t waste dev time on something so relatively minor, and not needed to beat the game.

Yep. Because you need to stop it from snapping back.

i do get it to a point; however, when people say the game is short or too easy, then everyone says the game is a builder sim and you should focus on building.

if the 90% of the game is building amazing architecture and roads (5% combat and collect, 5% story) then having curved platforms would be up there on the to do list. not to mention you just need it 3D modeled. you don't need new coding logic since it's a grid placement.

You can't be placing a foundation adjacent to something (with respect to the four narrow faces) when you do this. It must be snapping to the top or bottom of another foundation or object. It is very, very annoying how particular it all is.

Also note that the use of any sort of curves in your design is going to break your alignment to world grid unless you are extremely careful with trig-based calculations and use a huge amount of space on re-aligning, which will still only be an approximate realignment. If you turn 10 degrees, go some amount of distance, and then turn 10 degrees back the other direction, you'll be parallel to world grid again, but almost certainly not aligned with it (as every 1m of foundation you place is going to move you 0.1736m on one axis and 0.9848m on the other).

Curves is a poisoned gift anyways. Looks good until you have to place walls and buildings on overlapping foundations at 43,7°

Yeah I get it, I want the curved pieces added to the game, too. But waiting until after 1.0 just made sense.

I made a 90 degree turn blueprint on a 6x6 mk3 designer, 100% on grid.
There is a Very slight gap in the center of turn, on the outside edge but you are unlikely to notice it.
