Drones
I never used drones before so I gotta ask: how do you keep them fuelled? As far as I understand one port can only deliver to one location - do you have a central fuel manufacturing facility surrounded by one fuel carrier port for each other port you have on the map?

Depends on your setup. I used drones to transport parts from remote factories to central HUB, so i had just single battery feed to this HUB and every drone that brought in stuff left with full batteries.

You can just make a Drone Port that has the Battery in the Outgoing port. You don't have to do anything with this port (you don't even need a Drone in this port). Just build it, supply it with Battery/any Fuel, and connect it with power. We'll call this Fuel Supply Port.

The Drone Port from far away Factories can link to this port to get Battery/Fuel in the Fuel Supply Port. Then supply it to every Drone Port that needs Fuel in the Factories. As long as the production of Battery/Fuel from the Fuel Supply Port is higher than the overall consumption, you don't have to worry about running out of Drone Battery/Fuel.

As a side note, one Drone port can only link to one port. But since the Fuel Supply Port itself doesn't really link to any port. It can be linked from all the Drone ports that need Battery/Fuel.

Consider you can use Packaged Fuels (Reg, Tubro, Rocket, and Ionized) and the 2 Fuel Rods, in addition to Batteries, you could just have drone ports feeding fuel to other drone ports easy enough.

My current plan is to overproduce rocket fuel at my power plant, import aluminium for containers via drone, and have a packaged rocket fuel depot for all drone needs. Just not sure how do I want to distribute it. NocheLuz's idea with a supply port sounds reasonable. Also not sure just how much supply will the drones need, how much to overproduce.

Each new factory using drones needs a dedicated "Fuel Supplier" station that goes to your fuel output. Do rocket fuel, its great

batteries are even better, you could use nuclear fuel cells as well.

Plutonium fuel rods - good way to get rid of nuclear waste...

Fisconium is a thing now. Plutonium waste is a non-issue in 1.0

This guy here acting like setting up Ficsonium isn't a massive pain in the ass.

I never said that... I was just pointing out there is a way to get rid of it now.

i always intended to use more drones but i do belt highways. the only drone i set up was from a battery factory to a project assembly factory and i over built the battery factory by a lot because i full intended on using the factory to deliver more batteries around but it never really was needed
Can you ride the drones?

Dedicated gas stations, with distribution from a big factory. Or using a byproduct from a factory. Refueling drive through basicly.
