Since 1.0, do leaves and wood respawn now?
As the title says

no

From what I've seen, leaves picked up will EVENTUALLY respawn. Trees will not. Anything taken out by the chainsaw will not come back.

I miss the petals! Wonderful emergency fuel.

Gotta bum rush coal sadly. :(

Don't remember the petals. But yeah, get coal as quick as possible. Although it's bugged a bit at the moment.

Bum rush? The world has enough fuel via trees to last you a long long while... but I'm not sure who would sit around trying to use bio fuel that long lol

Biofuel reactors can be belt fed now so not as much of a pain as it use to be.

Players like me like their environment to look nice and therefore don't want to destroy all foliage. So if I want to have some trees and bushes left to look at later in the game I need to get to coal asap.

You can allways hunt critters for bio-fuel. They are worth a fair bit, and do respawn as long as you have not built around their spawn points.

I felt like barely touched my foliage, got to coal after like 12 hours on my 1.0 run, and I'm sitting on nearly a full container of solid biofuel. Are you making sure to process everything into higher grades of fuel? Or maybe you're just running a much larger factory? My pre-coal factory was only pulling like 150MW of power or so total.

Yes, but you could also convert them into healing devices or, more importantly, into alien dna for points.

Shouldn't be an issue still. You would barely touch foliage and you can always tactically cut stuff as to not deforest everything. I can't say we even barely touched the side of the desert and we got coal within 9 hours. The bio fuel should be able to last you a long while if you want it to. If you must maintain all trees well that's not the game forcing you to bum rush coal its your play style.

You have to do what you have to do, but 1 doesn't need to DeForest the entire planet to get to coal either lol the point is you could make it last a crazy Ling time if for some reason you needed it to.

Personal preferences should not be in the way of research, development and application of new technology and science.
I'm gonna report you to your supervisor at FICSIT Inc.
