Quit using aftermarket antivirus, they're basically viruses themselves.

And over here folks, we have a typical windows user.

Mine (Avast) did not find anything.
Most likely a false positive.

There are many online file testers - you upload a file and it scans it using multiple AV engines. Find one, upload the affected file, and see the results. If most of the AVs report it as OK, then it's most likely a false positive. Your AV should have a feature to report false positives

I dont use any anti virus apps since over 10 years. I never had issues. Windows defender and ad blockers do the work. Just never click on strange links and you wont have any problems.

You'd think after the 56th incident where their AV detected BS that doesn't exist people would have realized it's utterly useless and deleted it.

Your AV may already be on the case updating their exception library, this is day one of the update after all. I do recommend keeping your AV though.

Windows Defender is seriously surprisingly good at what it does.

Don't worry m8, I checked the hash and it's clear. And, about AV, having Windows Defender, if you have full internet access is enough (in the majority of cases)

False-positive.

1.0 hotfix is alerting as a Trojan Horse
This better be a false positive. If my gaming rig is infected, my infosec rig will retaliate.
Jack-o-Lantern Sep 12, 2024 @ 10:08am
what AV are you using?

if it's Avast, get rid of it
Scorps75 Sep 12, 2024 @ 10:09am

Is Satisfactory infected ?
After installing the "1" update and the last update today, Avast! put one file in quarantine.
File name : FactoryGameSteam-Win64-Shipping.exe

Is it a virus?
