Do you still need a epic account to play?

last time i bought this game i needed and epic account i think it was and i dont want gog or epic accounts. Is this still true?

Where did you buy it? Obviously not on Steam. Anyway, I did and I never had to bother with anything else; you can also verify this for yourself on the store page.

The statement was always false. You don't need an Epic account to play. I'm not going to explain details, because I don't feel like it.

You can even play mulitplayer without epic account.

Proof: Myself, I have it, I play it, I dont have epic an account.

The Steam version does not require an Epic account. I don't have either one and it works fine.

No, as the others already said, you will not need an Epic account. But your game will connect to the Epic Online Services (EOS) and assign you an Epic ID, since EOS is used for all multiplayer functionality.
