Have you ever opened a pod and there wasn't a hard drive?

It was in the south-east corner of the map, no debris around it, operational, and voila! no hard drive, anti-climatic frustration set in. Happy Pioneering!

I've had two pods that I opened with no hard drive in my current Update 8 game, though I don't remember where they were on the map.

Yeah, had a few too. At first I thought I already took them earlier, but I always mark emptied pods with a steel pole, so after a few empty pods without a steel pole I knew the drives had not been there at all.

There was a visual issue a while ago, if I remember correctly, but I believe mainly if you are playing on a server. Try to double click where the hard drive should be or place an item from your inventory into the slot...maybe you just can't see it?

In my case I tried what you suggested, because at first I thought I did something wrong. But the hard drives were simply not there.

I had the opposit, some they should be empty had some inside. now i have 4 HD to spare, all alternative recipes are discovered. I on U8 too.

Earlier, opening these caused a crash. Had found two that caused crash. Been back to one of them and it opened empty. Have found 27 refreshed.

IF, big if, I recall you should have 4 HD to spare with all recipes unlocked at the end of collecting all of them.

I've seen this when I joined my dedicated server. I could still double click the blank space and obtain a drive. Don't think this has happened playing locally

For me are the harddrives invisible until i put them into my backpack. You can doubleclick the icon and it appears in your inventory. Its just invisible.

Every single time in MP when I am not host.

Close the pod ui, open pod again and the hard drive appears.
