For now it's most likely just a piece of the terrain, but it is an interesting theory of what it 'could be'.
It's like northeast of the autumn forest. I haven't bothered to setup high alt radars yet to see the map as my map still shows black on the top right half chunk.
I marked as a beacon and it's slightly north of center. On high elevation.
People keep suggesting mercer spheres when I said it was the size of a tree and noninteractable.
That area used to have a bunch of them until a recent biome update.
its not an egg.
Looking at the thing I suspect Quanterfuntumph may be right and it was one of these "oil trees" it seems the game used to have before the oil nodes were added to the game.
Personally I choose to believe it is in fact some sort of giant egg, and this may even be related to why there is a mercer sphere in the base of it. Because that idea is way cooler (and it's hardly the craziest idea I've had, or heard from others, about the lore of this game).
