Can I destroy any rock?
There are tiny rocks that don't bother much but big ones make big problems.

Short answer. No

There are large rocks and groupings that can be destroyed, some will open up new areas or caves, but they are easily identifiable by a cracked texture on them.

Some rocks are part of the map itself and these will need to be avoided or built around.

many of the small rocks and boulders can be blown up with nobelisk. only way to know for sure is toss a nobelisk charge on it and see what happens. Many of the larger ones.. nope. again, only way to know for sure is toss a nobelisk charge on it and see what happens.. Nobelisk will be unlocked at some point after you find and start to research sulfur I believe?
You'll also need to... unlock the detonator at some point. I'm not sure which tier right now, i'm old and forgetful :p

You also cannot destroy the poisonous fume rock-like structured plumes, but you can destroy those geodesic dome buildings with Nobelisk, and most living things, plant and animal, not sure about if you can kill the flying manta-ray thing or not, but don't kill the non-aggressive creatures anyway, because..... it's bad karma! Happy Pioneering!

You can also hit rocks with the chainsaw AE, but only if a valid chainsaw target is within its AE radius.

Yeah... It's a good strategy to use the chainsaw to destroy rocks and boulders that you would like to remove in an area that you're building in, pick a tree or shrub that's closest to the rock. rock gone, limestone in your inventory, if it's not full. A good method to use at least before you get Nobelisk, then it's all over, just be careful not to be too close to the explosion or you'll get some damage to your health bar.

I'm not sure of what the Area Effect radius (AE) but you could find a large patch of flowers, pick one in the middle of that patch, chainsaw it and find out, I think it's about half of a foundation or so around the middle flower, so 2M?, you can also saw those trees and flowers that are cropping up in an "air road" that you're building, highlight one, then chop them all down with that AE! Happy Pioneering!

i have seen the tell tale trails indicating that a slug is in the rock and the texture of the rock means it can be blown up , on a few occasions i have thrown tons of explosives at them and they just refuse to shatter , i have also seen the same thing with a few coral structures , again they just refuse to shatter but it does not happen very often.
