Blow them up.
Ah, beans. Thanks anyway. You wouldnt happen to know if there is a reason to build a base right? Like i can unlock walls and stuff but im just wondering if there is a reason to use them. Just for looks or do i get attacked?
dang that is one beefy chainsaw
Foundations are good to build because it gives a level area to build on, and things snap to a grid.
Walls are good to build, as there are attachments you can add to them. Conveyor wall poles to run conveyors along walls (freeing up some floor space), and wall power outlets that connect to walls and foundations (the bottoms and sides) that may help in running electricity. There is also a wall outlet that passes through walls. Not actually necessary (electrical lines can clip through things), but it does provide 4 attachment points on each side of the wall.
Walls also give places to attach belts (conveyor walls), pipelines (both floor and wall attachments), and hypertubes (also floor and wall attachments).
And also for looks.
And for those terrain rock, I don't think you can remove it at all.
Also it can look cooler :)
I would also recommend leaving gaps between floors. Having the belts mostly hidden looks nice and clean. Plus if you need to load balance you have more space to mess around with belts.
I build an interstitial below every floor now for exactly that. It works wonders and makes everything easier to route and better to look. Win win!
