EOS Requires agreement to a 3rd-party EULA
Dose using EOS mean we are signing a EULA with Epic Online Services?

Yes. Under your steam ID with a pass you can't retrieve.
Same way fortnite on XBOX makes an arbitrary account on epic that you can't access if you ever need to.

Yes but Fortnite belongs to epic, Satisfactory don't so it's a little shady in my opinion to use this.
this is not true, you do not create an epic account, at least that is what was also clearly stated by coffee stain in multiple streams (go look up the videos on twitch).

An account being made without your permission is still an account made without your permission...
until you click that box on the left in game.

Oh yeah definitely, you always have the freedom to uninstall and refund but they could have done a Steam ''version'' without the need for this since they are Indie.

these are the clarified terms of service, which appy to the game developers, so coffee stain, in this case.

I couldn't find any tos so far for mere users of the games, regarding this service.
which doesn't mean there isn't any, but I haven't found any, beside the "tos" for the website itself (not applicable here) and the one you linked.

thats the only EULA available in epics web page and its signed between devs and epic. if you agree to the games EULA you automaticly agree to the agreement between epic and devs.

Agree with ValTaPro, why they can't just make a Steam version and use features from Steam since this game is not an EGS property. Unlike some other games for example UBIsoft where they made their own games.

How dose one request GDPR access to this automatically created account or its deletion.

Pretty sure Coffee Stain got brought out by Epic last year, so it technically is a EGS property.

(Just checked on the interwebs and found out I am wrong about it being owned by Epic, they did get brought out, but by THQ Nordic instead, my mistake. Gonna leave that in here to show I was wrong though and made a mistake on that, that being said, the rest of it still stands)

Anyways the way around cross play is something I will not accept. I am not using EGS by choice for my reasons, good for you if you do. This feels way to close to actualy compromising that so I will be passing with a heavy heart on this game. I was really looking forward to the game, but their way to add a feature I didnt want for a game that I would play single player means I will pass.

I wish others who want and can play the game get the fun they want, and the devs good luck in the future, and the people who got this on the EGS get their shopping cart and forums so they can get all the help they need in their own place.

**Edited as my memory is not what it was and I made a mistake**

If this is the case then I could understand and wish those who bought and use the game have fun.

true - i see it like you.

+ here was a lot of Players which dont want or dont need "crossplay" with Epic Users.
I will never use Epic because i dont like it and dont want support this.

I use Steam and want play my Games here - and dont want this sneaky Epic "Feature" like in this Game.....

Its part of a worring trend where everything needs a user name and password and internet connection to keep your beer in your fridge cold. Do you remember when mobile phones only needed a SIM card Pepperidge Farm Remembers.

Yes the code is baked into the exe
That's not how exe files work. exe files are "executable files", that initiate a program. After the initiation is complete, the exe works as a facilitator for the other data that is within the relevant files.

Did you read that. where dose a user request access to there data.
Thats for dev access
Read between the lines: You contact Coffee Stain Studios as is required to comply with the GDPR and they can remove you:

"Some circumstances may necessitate deleting a user's data completely. For example, you might want to permanently remove the user due to a violation, their account data may become corrupted or compromised, or they may specifically request that their account data be removed.

Clicking Delete Data for a given product will permanently delete the user's player and progression data for that game.

For more extreme circumstances, the Delete All Data at the bottom of the page will delete all of the user's data across all applications managed by your organization. It will also unlink all of their accounts for all identity providers.

Requests to delete all data have a 10-day grace period. This allows for the cancellation of the request in case the request for deletion was due to a compromised account."

Also: Oh god guys, look at all this identifying information they get from you! Oh nooooo!

Not my username and game data!

Fair enough its coffee stains responsibility to manage the database. I would say that most people would not even know it exists in the first place to request its deletion.

You have Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel among your most played games. They are powered by Unreal Engine. I would bet you also play games protected by Easy Anti-Cheat.
