I really wish they just made the sequel rather than rebooting the same game again. This will confuse newer players.

idea factory almost always ports to pc after consoles. it's being released exclusively in japan in September. when it inevitably comes west the wait could be a couple weeks/months to a few years for pc.

I was under the impression that it's unknown weather Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord is another Fairy Fencer F remake or a sequel/spin off. from what I've seen it looks like something new. I've only done one of the three endings though.

But it looks like total crap from the trailer. It looks much worse than this FFF:ADF game is.

They should make a real sequel, not an inferior crap game.

Also, in all the screenshots and trailers that I could find so far with the new game, none of them seem to represent how Harley looks from the front view.

It will be very interesting to see whether or not they SJW-ize her chest in the new game.

I am going to predict that they will.

...I think they did that to obfuscate the fact that they SJW-ized her (and the rest of the game too), most likely.

And here is another article about the new game from where that screenshot is hosted, although it seems they are just re-publishing screenshots that they got directly from Compile Heart, and not ones they took themselves:

I'm extremely confused by this topic, everywhere I look Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord is considered a sequel, is not the same game whasoever.

Honestly even in gameplay is entirely different, so what is OP complaining about here?

I think the articles might be wrong when they describe this as a sequel.

It looks more like an experimental side game rather than an actual real sequel.

Considering the developers went as far as making a list of returning characters, I believe OP has lost his mind.

It definitely looks more like a spin-off than a real sequel. Recycled assets, different genre etc.

Its neither it's kinda a retelling of story. From the Japanese article's I read over past few months.

Thanks for the screenshot.

Now the million dollar questions are:

1. Will it stay uncensored like that in the actually released version?

2. Will the Western version(s) have that uncensored version, or will they instead get a toned down and censored version?

I still think they purposely strategically blocked her chest with the UI in the official screenshot from earlier, even though they didn't yet censor her character in the Japanese version.

IMO that must either have been because:

a) they were undecided as to whether or not they were going to censor her and/or

b) they were undecided about whether or not they were going to censor her specifically for Western version(s), and yet leave her as her real original design in the Japanese version and/or

c) they wanted to limit negative comments from Western "games journalists" so therefore they purposely blocked her chest with the UI for that exact reason
