Game crashing my PC?
I just picked up a new PC and immediately bought this game. Super into it so far, but I cannot make it to the first save point without my whole PC crashing. I've tried to look this up, and have tried a couple fixes like limiting the CPU's, lowering the graphics and playing in window mode but it only prolongs the crash from actually happening.

I really want to play this game, any suggestions?

Games should not be making your whole pc crash. If that it occurring, I would look at ensuring that your computer runs stable first and foremost.

If it's new, make sure that everything working properly, including no overheating, ensure that windows is updated, and that your drivers are sufficiently to up to date.

Check the temperatures of both CPU and GPU first thing. Overheating is one of the most common causes of such crashes.

So I've updated the drivers, windows and kept an eye on the temperature while I'm running the game but it never passes 70 °C ( sits at around 60 most of the time) but it's still crashing, now I'm kinda freaking out, I've got very little PC knowledge as it is. Thank you for your help anyway, fingers crossed it's just the game. What a real shame. :(

Did you overclock your cpu?
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

It's all just guesswork, but could be a memory issue. Happened to me with a different game when I had my CL timings set too tight. If you have not overclocked it could also be a defect. In this case try a memory test ("mdsched" in the windows search bar) and if you do find problems in the first run, test the modules individually.

Yep, it was the power source. Event Viewer showed Kernel Power errors, so replacing it fixed the issue. Feel kinda dumb but a learned some new stuff, thanks guys!
