2. It's an artistic choice, so to speak. Some like it, others don't.
3. Overall graphics are fine. If you're concerned about every single pixel on the screen, it's only your problem really.
4. Valid complaint, the enemy roster could've use some more variety.
5. Donguri is laughing somewhere in a distance.

6. A/B routes are mostly the same, whereas Route C is a completely different game. In a sense A/B is a prologue and C is where the game starts for real.
7. JRPG's are well-known for having either ridiculous or tedious sidequests. Though, in defense of Automata, some sidequests provide essential story-related information.
8. You can load your most recent save to avoid having to go there and recover your chips.
To answer your question - the story and the questions it raises is what makes Automata what it is. That, and a heavenly soundtrack.
You should check this guide. https://www.nexusmods.com/nierautomata/mods/29
This game is not a random game. Most of the things have a reason in this game. Such as colorless Bunker etc. Even some of the camera angles has a meaning. There are pretty important text stories too.
This game is about story, philosophy, journey, characters and most importantly emotion. It's a classic.
Here's an estus to help you finish this game.
It's as though you didn't even do any of the sidequests before you went through this game.
This isn't even a poor or an uncommon aspect of RPG design. Not everything has enemies that scale to you like Skyrim or FFVIII, and even those games can lead to premature death if you go into an area that is beyond the intended level.
Personal hobby. Some time I didn't like it too.
Compare to another JRPGs, some like they created from cartoon. This game is great.
Play tales of arise or any RPG game, you will see the same, they have not even changed model and texture, just recolor.
Play and discover more. I feel good with this combat mechanics, not just stand and spam skill button like some other games.
Route B is following the route A but at another view. You feel the same route A when 9S and 2B are going together.
You discover more the game story at the view of 9S, a scanner model.
Do you often skip side quest at any RPG you played, right?
Side quest give you more items, pod programs, weapons and some small interesting story.
Fortunately, you can often save and load.
The best thing I like from this game a long with the story.
2. That's one of the gimmicks since the original Nier o even the before games from ps2 (Drakengard) , as far as I've read, its pretty interesting that one game includes, bullet hell, side scroller, TPS, and I do get you, I was really confused during the first hour of the tutorial, but also I get the developer trying to shake thing up and adding "games" they enjoyed while they were young.
3. I am spechless about the graphics, because thats one of the hardest selling points of this game, it looks beautiful, and as far as I've read you could play in the lowests setting at 720p and still has some filtering and looks nice. Besides, lets be honest the biggest selling point of AAA videogames is graphics, since 2009, but the indie community has come and told them they could use paint graphics and still have good gameplay, like that among us game..
4. I don't understand this, but I also didn't like the enemies designs, but ok, as far as i am concerned those designs has been since the original ps2 games Drakengard.
5. Yeah, i didn't enjoyesd the combat system, it took me a while to understand it. Since this was a japanese game from platinum games, i was expecting a combo system like bayonetta or revengeance. But no, you could just press the attac button and the attacks are comboed.
6.What the frigging hell are you talking about? it's not a copy paste, you play as an explorer non combat unit, so you hack insted of mashing your weapons. Also thats some frigging Top tier storytelling, they give you a broader and deeper pesrpective of the characters in a story, something really common in the psychological thriller horror films I really like a lot. The most mainstream examples are the "Trilogy of Error" from the simpsons and "run lola run"
7. At this point i'm just noticing you just don't like the game and its ok, not all games are for everybody, for example amongus and the 5 nights at freddys are really popular, i gave them a chance, but didin't feel the appeal so i just stopped playing them. As all RPG the quests help you understand better the world you're supposed to be inmersed in, see the struggles and needs from the people living in that kind of world.
8. Ok, people don't like to lose things, but i assure you there a re plenty of savepoints in the world. So just save often.
