The Day One edition is no longer available on Steam.
Wow, you're right. Talk about sudden.
I don't know exactly how Square has tied the keys and to what, but it's possible that your key unlocked the DLCs along with the game, which should allow you to see the DLCs on your library on the game: http://i.imgur.com/B3IAwvL.png
If that isn't the case then Square might have goofed and tied the Day One Edition cd key to the Standard Edition copy of the game, and instead relied upon the timed promo they were running instead. Because the Day One Edition promotion ended 16:00 GMT 12th May 2017... :|
Hopefully they'll be able to help. Situations like these often results in the customer being redirected back and forth between supports.
* Amazon Support can't help because they only sold the retail copy of the game.
* Steam Support can't help because they aren't responsible for tying the CD key of the retail copy to a specific package on Steam.
* Square Enix Support should be able to help but probably blames Steam or Amazon since it's easier than to hunt down the team responsible for setting up how the game is delivered on Steam and what key ties to what package.
These scenarios sadly aren't uncommon, especially not when a publisher decides to run a timed promotion on the platform but doesn't confirm that everything on the retail side is set up correctly to grant the items even after the timed promotion have ended.
Not sure. As I mentioned it all depends on what key ties into what package on Steam, and how Square have set it up.
[edit] While I dont think the DLC is an important factor, it annoyed me that I didnt get what was advertised on Amazon. I mean, I dont really need valves for eyes in the game. And the POD looks fine as it is. So no DLC isnt a dealbreaker for me as such. Its the not getting whats advertised that infuriated me.
