Game Length?
Hey All,

Bought this when it came out, but I am now just getting to it (been busy). I am seeing a lot of threads which state there are 3-4 endings to the game. My question, how long will it take me to get to the real ending (not the 1st, but the last)?

Thanks for the input!

I think theres like 26 endings, lets say 8 hours a run, a while.
Mystokai Jul 2, 2017 @ 10:19pm
There are 5 actual endings with the last being ''True'' Ending, also referred to as E ending.

All other endings F through W are considered ''fail''.

Took me roughly 40+ Hours to get to ending E, by also doing most side quests.

A/B/C/D/E are the ''good ending'' and they are started upon reloading your save file after the last boss. Since im on my second playthrough i should be unlocking route B i believe?

Plus, the game ain't entirely the same from second playthrough and onward.

Everything else is unlocked by X or Y action.... Don't wish to spoil so i won't be giving example.

After finishing C ending, you unlock Chapter Select, which greatly speeds up your ability to get those other endings...
All those Endings past E has a super quick credit roll and you are brought back to start screen, and you just press Continue and are reloaded at last save point.

The game have 17 chapters spread over three routes.

Chapter 1 -> 10 makes up route A (2B's perspective) and B (9S' perspective). Chapter 11 -> 17 makes up route C, which as you can probably tell is a continuation of route A and B.

Route A leads to ending A.
Route B leads to ending B.
Route C leads to ending C, D and E (the true ending).

After you complete an ending and save your game after the credits you begin the next route by clicking on Continue on the main menu. So route A leads to route B which leads to route C.

After completing ending C or D you unlock Chapter Select which, as Mystokai says, allows you to quickly jump back to the final end-game decision which controls whether you get ending C or D. Choosing the other ending grants you ending E.

Side quest progression, levels, weapons, items etc are all shared between all routes.

So to summarize: You only "replay" the main story line of chapter 1-10 once, one time from 2B's perspective (route A) and one time from 9S' perspective (route B). Route C is entirely different.

The game has like 26 endings. Most jokes of course, with only five being legit. But all of it keeps you generally busy. Plus the countless side quests, exploration, and secrets extend the gameplay time greatly. I've got like 60 hours on it and I'm still not done getting everything I possibly can.

Get Debunked :'D!

Seems to average ~40 hours for the main throughline to the endings + most sidequests. Each subsequent "route" is increasingly small, right up to the point of the fourth "playthrough" constituting ~10 minutes. The first run will feel wildly underwhelming - that's ok. It's really only the opening act.

Avoid spoilers at all costs, and have a great time!

Obviously YMMV, but my total playtime after doing EVERYTHING was 91 hours. Then again, I did every single side quest, fished a lot, upgraded all weapons, which I needed to farm for, got all possible ialogue, items, unique enemies, etc.

Without a walkthrough, I assume? Getting full 100% is easily obtainable in ~55 hours.

Why would I ever use a walkthrough? What's the point of ruining my fun and forgoing discovering and learning things on my own? I've got like ~5000 hours in the Souls games, I'm someone who goes through every single area and every little thing with a fine comb. Which is why I said YMMV AND mentioned that I fished and farmed a lot just to get pretty much every single little thing possible.
I don't care if it's obtainable in less time, I don't regret a single second I spent. I like to do things the way I want.
