Dub or sub?

I'd recommend the Dub in this case. The dub for this game is actually pretty good but also if you don't know JP you might have a rough time knowing what is being said. Theres several parts in this game where a boss is talking to you while you are fighting, and on harder difficulties it can be overwhelming trying to focus on the boss fight and what the boss is saying the entire time

Dub, all the way. English VAs did a fantastic job.

As noted, the game has a lot of battle dialogue that is easy to miss if you expect to just read subtitles.

I don't see anything wrong with the english dub in this game, personally, Kira Buckland and Kyle McCarley have been great.

People say japanese one is superior, but I honestly can't determine the quality of the voice acting in a language I don't even understand the first part of.

As someone already said, some important bosses speak while fighting, and you're obviously going to miss it with ♥♥♥ dubs. You can always experience the original language after you finished the game, on another playthrought. ;)

English dub is really great in this game so it's honestly just which one you would find easier to understand during combat and such as much of the plot dialogue is during gameplay.

The English VA's are really well done, but the lipsync is non-existant.
Again a lot of talking while playing/fighting, so English is good for that.
Subs are nice for a second play though, the ♥♥♥ VA is pretty good too.

Honestly it really doesn't matter, I played through the game subbed with no problems, but the dub is also good. Try them both and pick one

The dub, easily. Kira Buckland and Kyle McCarley did a fantastic job, but Cherami Leigh as A2 sold it for me. Her banter with Pod 042 (DC Douglas) was just hilarious to listen to.

Not to mention the out of sync subs and how it combined with hectic battles makes playing with Japanese VOs a worse experience IMHO.

Sub, just be ready to read while fighting :P. It's simply much better than english VA in my opinion.

As with the original NieR, English. Tried Japanese, liked the English VAs more. 2B'sJapanese VA is good, though.
Kyle's voice acting in Route C is absolutely stellar and haunting, and Kira does a great job as well. And we have fuc­king D.C. Douglas as Pod 042.

Jokes aside, pretty much everyone does a great job. The Operators, Pascal, A2, etc.
The Commander is the only one that felt flat to me.

You think so? I was actually sorely disappointed with 2B, when I heard her speak the first time. Though 9S is much better in english dub, if you ask me.
