SaveSlot_0.dat is the first slot in the game, the top one.
SaveSlof_1.dat is the second slot in the game, the middle one.
SaveSlot_2.dat is the third slot in the game, the bottom one.
Just move the save slot out from the save folder and it should be gone from the game except if Steam Cloud would somehow sync it back.
I wonder if turning off my internet and running the game, deleting the file, turning my net back will work.
Disable Steam Cloud temporarily. Also you can delete the file after you started the game(switch to desktop using Alt+Tab), but before going to the select save screen and it should work too: Steam Cloud only syncs files when games start and when they are closed.
You definitely are getting your deleted save back in your local folder when you are starting the game.
Also as a safety measure, before fiddling manually with save files is very advisable to make a copy of the folder that contains the game saves. Just in case you mess something up you can always return to initial state locally.
