Downloaded Reshade - Game Won't Start

Like the title says, the game won't launch after downloading Reshade 3.1 and putting an .ini file into the game's .exe file folder.

I thought removing the .ini file and the Reshade folder would fix this, but I still can't get my game to launch.

Can anyone help me out please?

Try verifying the integrity of your game files. If that doesn't work, delete every file in the game folder except for the "data" folder and do the same thing, you'll have to download around 400mb (the missing files you deleted). I'm pretty sure this will fix it, tell me if it does, otherwise I can't think of anything else

It is because it most likely is interfering with FAR. There’s a chapter or two on how to load ReShade with FAR in my guide. After you’ve set it up as such you should be able to replace the preset file with the one you downloaded on said page, although a few minor tweaks might be necessary to get everything to work properly.

So basically, remove that copy of ReShade you downloaded from the game folder.

Okay, follow your instructions (and reinstalling FAR) fixed everything. Thank you. Now to try and get Reshade to work

@Aemony I read through the sections for Reshade. I've created the new folders required, but I not see anything about replacing the files with a different Reshade file? Where would I put the .ini file?

Launch the game once and create a new preset in Shift+F2 or whatever the hotkey for ReShade is. Then you might be able to replace that one with the one from the archive.

ReShade have two .ini files typically, the ReShade.ini that contains ReShade’s configuration file, and the [preset name].ini that contains the preset in question. Usually you only have to replace the preset file and not the ReShade file itself.

Oh, you could also simply throw the preset ini file into the folder where ReShade resides and see if it is detected in the game as well.
