Well I have to consider the value of something before buying it, don't I? Especially for a game with all kinds of reivews about bad optimization like this. But yeah I get you.
That stopped being a valid excuse in the ears of most players when Steam added the refund option, just so you know. The two hour gameplay window required to get a refund is enough to test the performance and optimization of almost all titles nowadays, including NieR:Automata.
The window is intended to see how products *perform* on your system. For all the other stuff (you know, the actual content of the game) you have reviews, Let's Plays, etc, etc.
The consumer have a ton of different options available to him to make an informed purchase decision long before he hands over the money. The fact that you still feel the need to pirate and play games more than 2 hours suggests that you don't use the tools available for you.
It gets a bit tiring after a while hearing the same excuse of "Oh, I need to try the game for [5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100] percent before I know whether it's worth paying for! Who knows, I might otherwise regret my purchase decision!" And yes, it's one of the most used "excuses" nowadays, with the time "required" only different between pirates and games.
