I completed the prologue (I guess, we just did the thing with the giant machines) and it just felt like a glorified cutscene the whole way through where I was holding right bumper and tapping X the whole time.
What makes this game more fun? Does the action get more action-y? Or is this game all about the story?
The combat is pretty much the same, it can be more intense due to a large amount of enemies at some points and the combos a little bit different depending on your weapons, plug-in chips, and also your pod's ability, but it doesn't change a lot even with the other two characters (except for some different mechanics each one has), at least for me. It's more about the story.
If we talk about side quests, there's a lot of them that have some interesting story behind it, others reveal things linked directly with the main story, and then you have your typical and kinda boring side quest
Recent Square Games are meh, but others are right, Nier Automata is one of the best game I've ever played.
I mean, you might end up caring about the story, as it's very, very good (and that's coming from someone who's not really an anime fan either). But hey, if you don't like the gameplay and are only taking that into consideration, then yeah, I guess go ahead and refund it.
I work 50+ hours a week and my commute is over an hour one way. I don't have time to sit through cutscenes while I'm trying to play video games. But my job is satisfying and I have a lot of money. I don't need your envy, friend.
