Why is the beginning of route C so brutally difficult.
I went the entire game with the same chip set, reach this point, and now have no plug in chips, at all, all of the enemies are level 50 and above while mine is 40, barely, the basic energy balls do half my health, and the section is literally unbeatble at my character's current level. I'd love to know whose idea such a massive difficulty spike was so they can be moved to a developmental area where they arent the one making decisions.

Keep in mind I have died atleast 30 times now, and this post took an extreme amount of effort for it to not be a curse filled rage post.

Blame the lack of proper level scaling in the game. They should've just as well set up dynamic levels that changed according to the player, but since they didn't these stuff can happen.

Basically the levels of each route (lvl 50 for route C) targets the level they probably believe the "average" player will be on when playing that route.

But it is still weird, as Eve in route B is at lvl 48 if I remember it correctly, which is weird that you jump to level 50 enemies directly after.

He is level 48, cause I just fought him a couple hours ago. But your also 9S so you can easily skip the entire first phase of the fight by hacking. I did do some sidequests but sometimes skipped a few. Its just, not really fair at all and if it just gets harder from here then I guess I am screwed.

It doesn’t get harder, but it doesn’t get easier either. I am not 100% certain, but I believe /all/ regular mobs are stuck at lvl 50 or maybe slightly higher for all of route C, with only unique or special bosses being higher leveled.

Well, its a little late for leveling for me.

In Nier, you are either too high level or too low.

There could also be the case of,
1. Are your weapons upgraded?
2. What Chips you use?

When playing on Normal, you can just stack bunch of offensive chips and blaze through game like no tommorow.

Well i was level 56 when starting route C so i found it very easy. But i also put 32 hours in route A/B and did all the side missions and extra content so i was pretty overleveled when route C started.

Currently using two level 3 weapons, the starter small and large swords, because those were first I upgraded. I went in with a bunch of chips that gave attack boost, auto heal, heal on attack, and heal on enemy killed, and did fine till I got to the Goliath in the crater. Well, it did its punch move where it picks up up and straight instant kills you if your level 41, and I wasn't able to get my chips back because I died to his shockwave move next.

The only dodge chip I use is the basic overclock so I can aim my pod easier sometimes or figure out where to dodge the absurd amount of projectiles on screen sometimes.

Check Devola n Popola shop to see if you have access to them for Evasive System. At somepoint in Route A or B should have access to it. Not sure if you have access to that shop at beginning of Route C.

You still can do it. You suppose to hack it with 9S.
