[SOLVED] The infamous Chest in Flooded City
So, I'm trying to get the infamous chest on the far building in the Flooded City and found a good strategy using the spears I bought.First,I almost got it with a normal Trial and Error technique and my heavy sword, but failed in the end and can't redo what I just did. So, like I said, my spears could help me out, but ... every friggin time I try to use the pod throw (RB+A) the damn thing will just let me glide or simply shoots. The Flooded City is the only location the pod throw won't work on, so what do I do? Or is there anyone who could tell me after what moves the pod throw will still work? It won't work after combos, after a dash and sometimes it will not even work if I jump in the air and press the combination. This is so damn annoying. This chest and speed star (also, always getting Emil to stop) are the most annoying things in Nier: Automata for me.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help. And better don't try to send me vids on how to do it since all strategies simply won't work for me and I can't remember what to press exactly when I try to jump over again.

Pod throw does work, you have to double jump waiting as long as possible to get as far as possible, pod throw and dash, then you should grab the ledge or directly end on the roof. You can also add a few normal sword slashes to get a bit further.

So, what I did was:

As 2B, I had the Dragoon lance and Lance Type 40 spears/lances equipped, ran off the building and double jumped, used the pod throw immediately after that (it worked after the double jumps suddenly), dashed and then used a few spear attacks with X (Square) and finally made it!

Hopefully, this will help more people.

And hopefully, this will work on my 9S playthrough as well.

Jump, dash, jump, pod throw, pod glide.

Yeah, basically there's any number of solutions for that chest (unlike the factory one, now that one is infamous).

I just hacked one of the small flying units that has a fan below them. The double jump and glide is very long for that unit and crossing the gap was super easy

Isn't Pod Throw Jump+Fire, not Fire+Jump?

What factory chest? O.o Now I almost feel that I'm missing something.

Edit:
This one? I had honestly forgotten about that one. Dunno if I ever managed to obtain it or not.

Not worth it, just a meteorite in there.

Usually, the notation '+' when referring to controls/actions in a videogame means you do them at the same time. So they are identical.

I don't see that with this game, though. It gives you quite some time to press the required buttons, but the order seems to be important. I, at least, have never managed to trigger the pod throw with Fire => Jump, but Jump => Fire works without fail.

Most games give you a fair amount of time to do them. fire jump probably works more often because if your character starts the jump it can't do the pod throw. However it isn't intended to be triggered by jumping then firing.

Weak. It was so easy for me, I didn't even notice I got to it when I did.
