In the tower, towards the end of route c/d/e. IIRC it was just before the '9S vs flight units' battle, which was just before that crazy back-and-forth boss fight against the two ball-shaped machines.
This also shows the neverending-ness of their battle - androids kill machines and those just bring back backups, machines kill androids and they do the same. I guess raw materials can be the only thing to stop the process.
The video near the start of the game shows what looks to be three bunkers. Has there been any mention of the two other bunkers?
Everything in the video is a lie. So i doubt there arw more than 1 bunker.
[09/02/12422] I confirmed that the machine lifeforms released by the aliens have reconstructed their network. I've started to see units with gravity-controlling capabilities again as well.
[10/15/12422] I was spawned about a week ago, so I don't have clear recollections of anything before that. Say, I wonder where the Original disappeared to all those millennia ago...
[12/14/12422] I confirmed that the 25th one born after me has stopped his biological activity. Although we're technically immortal - since we can respawn indefinitely and all - we're still not exempt from death.
[01/19/12423] Our memories are only copies, so they're pretty vague. That android wearing black... I have the feeling I've met her before. She had a complicated look on her face, but I can't remember anything...
About a thousand years later from the game's current timeline.
Who knows how the planet has any more resources left after 5 millenia of non-stop war. Recycling must be amazing in the future.
There has been in fact. In the data regarding the machines plan on looping the war it mentions it will use the back door of the ACTIVE bunker. Also one or two of the weapon stories talk about different androids (radio Dj for example) from different orbiting satellites and receiving reinforcements from orbiting satellites (assumed bunkers).
Well there is ore laying all over the surface magically which in its description even states that it's odd...
Both the androids and machines get most of their resources at this point from scavenging dead machines, so either they've been saving the planet the bother and there's plenty of resources left, or their doing this because the planet really is tapped out.
Worst case scenario, there's a billion dead androids left laying around to scavange.
No, that's a part of the cutscene where 2B jumps in and turns the mecha around to travel out into space.
