Most gamers are the same these days, the devs reward those that want to shove a ton of time into it and give an shallow end for the goldfish. Pretty much perfect solution honestly.
which is bs, because i should expect some degree of professionalism. you're getting paid to beat the game and then critique it. not to play half of it and then half ass the review.
sure for some games it might be reasonable (i would not expect reviewers to get the last endings for the original Nier, for example), but if they did any proper due diligence beforehand about Nier: Automata, they'd know about Yoko Taro's unconventional way of storytelling. you don't need to go far at all to learn that the first ending is only one part of the game.
Given the story elements in Routes B and C, it's pretty clear that 9S is the main character.

Tails? 9S is OP as hell compared to 2B and gets more playtime than any other character. I wouldn't consider him a sidekick.
