Freeze screen bug fix ?
Did anyone find a fix for the freeze screen bug where the game continue to run even after your screen freeze ?

My comp in case it helps :
processor : intel i7-4930k @3.40ghz
ram :16 gb ddr3
graphic card : nvidia geforce gtx titan

Tried alot of things from forum and randomly to no avail :
-lowest / highest graphic settings
-full screen / windowed
-disconnecting second monitor (as someone did)
-updating drivers
-restarting computer / steam
-put the priority cpu in nvidia panel control
-tried a few other settings for the graphic cards
-verifying files
edit: - using joystick
edit2: - dsr in nvidia panel disabled by default
edit3: - before updating driver I was at 376.53, and later from the thread tried to downgrade from updated to 378.66, both didn't work (beside the updated one)

And still can't finish the tutorial.
My freeze goes from before the first boss to way later even after the room of bullet proofs robots thought most of them are near the first boss area). And in those freezes it goes from in the middle of the fight animation or just walking / turning the camera.

Bump. Screen freezes on a frame but I can still hear the game running in the background and even seem to interact with it.
keyboard & mouse?
I had that problem, using joystick did not crash

Try to downgrade your Nvidia to 378.66.

For me thankfully helped just leaving game in the windowed mode for now. (I have installed FAR v 0.5.2). In fullscreen mode game is freezing after about an hour. In windowed it is running fine. Guess, unsless developers of NieR would provide a patch, we are stuck with what we got.

My 2 cents here. After installing FAR and using windowed mode, it worked for a while. A day later and the white screen reappeared.
What i noticed, at least for me, i have the whitecreen only when firefox and/or chrome is open the same time. Could be related to having youtubes open or whatever may use ypur cpu/gpu. So i rebooted the pc and started steam, than Nier. For some reason, several hours of playing without a crash. Works everytime for me now, so its worth a try.
Gpu is the Nvidia crippled edition (970).

Running any game with a lot of other background things running is never a good idea as the chances of having a conflict is increased the more you have running. I normally play my games with as few background items running as I can.

Sure, thats true. But the only thing for me would be decreased performance, not a crash, no matter the game. And this is the only case where the whitescreen bug happens. At least ihope it will help some people.

Still happens 1 month after release and looks like nobody has a clear solution. I swear if i have to do the tutorial part one more time because of the game freezing...

I guess i should've bought the game on PS4.

Because the underlying issue is that the game engine can not recover from the display driver crash that occurs. This is, sadly, nothing that the community can fix.
