The 980 targets 1080p 60FPS that the PS4 Pro runs at. Its GPU is something between an RX470 and 480 and it often drops FPS in the 40ish range. So assuming it's decently optimized on PC it should manage locked 60FPS at 1080p.
Platinum generally do fine PC ports, which might be resolution locked, but they tend to run well.
Because its been decently established in the thread that people not getting review copies isn't a good sign.
No need to circlejerk to the obvious point.
And to be fair, TB has had a track record of being kind of a prick, before he got cancer. He was much better the past few years, especially when he closed his comment section because he knew he'd lash out at people there, whether the criticism was good or annoying. I find it extremely sad to see people harp on the guy, and I hope that he makes it for the sake of his wife and son.
That being said, people got sick of politics being spoken about in such a visceral manner in gaming in general, and the Co-Optional Crew continues to talk about it, on and off the show. Whether it was TB threatening to divorce his wife on Twitter for not voting Clinton, Jesse insulting Barron Trump for no good reason, or the crew in general talking about it on the podcast, at some point people have to be allowed to respond. Whether it be in disagreement with the politics or the precsence of it.
The fact remains that what people are saying about TB isn't new. When he did start branching out to more than just WoW Radio he'd act the same way to people over video games as he did over the 2016 election.
TB is a very pro-consumer person and I appreciate the hell out of him for that. He's done more in that respect for the industry than anyone I can name in his line of work, but if you're going to publically talk politics, people are going to respond.
It's the finest android ass though.
Yeah nice try kiddo, just one small detail PLATINUM is his fav dev and that was stated by him time and time again, so maybe next time you could do a bit of reasearch on your own, before spouting bs.
and Square Enix is one of his least fav publishers (probably next to Sega). I don't really care what TB says, because I do not agree in many cases with him. He is not a God of Gaming for me. I play games for my joy, to please myself. I do not play games only because some stranger with nice British accent say so. And I was thinking about jRPG's in general - he mentioned it many times in his podcasts. He hates them. And Nier have some jRPG's elements itself. He may like Platinum, but it's not typical Platinum game - it's already established title and sequel.
Also, the same broad approximate parity in performance and visual fidelity translated across console and equivalent PC hardware with Metal Gear Rising where older cards than what is recommended for the game, did fine.
People are getting far too worked up over the system requirements issue and missing the point on both sides of the divide, from those who are getting worked up about the specifications being too high (it is a demanding game, even on consoles) to those claiming that the GTX 770 is practically obsolete, despite the practical output of standard consoles falling well behind that card. Fact is that on the JermGaming channel, even a 2GB GTX 760 console competing project -- dubbed the Potato Masher -- is blatantly outdoing the standard PS4 and Xbone One with multiplatform titles going into its third year now. The PS4 Pro counterpart project with a GTX 1060 is doing the same. Yes, in terms of PC technology cycles, the GTX 770/680 are vintage items, but they're no slouches and those with such hardware should easily be approximately matching or exceeding the standard console experience.
Not sure how you can worry about that. The game is already out on console, so we know exactly what type, and how much content we are getting. This is one of the good things about console/pc staggered releases. We can see whats on the table before we pre-order. Performance is literaly the only unknown at this point.
Persona 4 Golden was his 2nd favorite game of 2012 though, I dont think he hates JRPGs.
You're never supposed to go to ONE person and take what they say as the only thing that matters. And he's never said to do that.
Where do people get these ideas? It's like they listen to specific things a person says and ignore the rest of it. o.o'
