Platinum Games developed an engine specifically for NieR: Automata.

I am kinda late but I was messing around with the game files and decompiling some of it and it seems that the game engine is called "Enlighten" which is an engine that was built specifically for NieR:Automata but I am not sure.

Enlighten is the third party dynamic global ilumination system's name not the engine itself, I don't think their engine has a name tho, at least not publicly.
