Beginners Difficulty
Hi guys and girls,
how does the difficulty setting infect the gameplay?
More health, more damage?

My game is installing and downloading right now and I was wondering how to choose the difficulty.

Compared to Normal mode, on Easy mode, enemies have less health and do less damage, but there are also a number of chips you can equip that automatically do things for you -- auto-attack, auto-evade, and so on. The game will practically play itself for you if you want.

On hard mode, enemies have more health, do more damage, and you can't lock on to enemies.

On very hard mode, all enemies can kill you in one hit.

I would personally say normal to start with. Just be aware that at the beginning of the game, you cannot save until you get past a certain point and is a boss encounter that can potentially be quite difficult and will kill you, if you haven't quite got the hang of the combat, in particular the evade ability.

If you do die, you will have to do that bit again which is about 30-60 minutes. - very first time i played the game, it took me 3 attempts to do.

If you want to ease in gently though, you can set as easy, and then when you get to the point you can save, set difficulty back to normal. There is no autosave in the game, but, once you can save, you can save very frequently, and at plenty of terminals in the game world.

Just play normal difficulty and spam dodge on bosses, it shouldn't be too hard in the end. If you want a challenge, hard is pretty difficult in the first 10 hours.

Try easy out, the auto-chips are freaking cool. I always wanted to mess with them but I started the game on normal and didn't think I could go back after that.

All difficulty does is make the enemies have higher damage, everything else is the same for every difficulty.

Enemy AI is a little smarter on Hard mode as well. They will dodge your attacks more often and are more aggressive.
