I'm not asking how to get access to Dusk HD via a weird and inconvenient method.
I have a shortcut on my desktop that was literally put there by the installer when I went to the Dusk HD page and clicked install.
From that shortcut, how do I play Dusk HD?
B. And when I launch the game from the icon that was created from LITERALLY THE STORE PAGE FOR DUSK HD, it launches regular dusk
C. How do I switch to HD mode..? If it has to be launched in that mode, why does not a single character of text or pixel of graphics indicate it's Dusk HD until you actually enter into a game.
I could really use some explanation here. It feels like.. this wasn't ready for release.. or they don't want us to actually play the HD version.
What upset me more is this
"What about DUSK HD? Do achievements and saves work there?
Saves work, but achievements do not."
You can tell if youve launched dusk hd right away by reading the text as the game boots up. it will explicitly say "DUSK HD"
Unfortunately this is a fundamental limitation of steam, not our game. When you tell steam to create a desktop shortcut for an app, it will ONLY make a shortcut for the first launch option specified in the app. In the case of dusk, this is the classic version of the game. There is no way to create a shortcut through steams UI that will launch a secondary option. You do have a few options however.
1) create a manual shortcut to the dusk hd application found in the \DUSK\DLC\DUSK HD folder
2)Launch the game through the steam library and press "Play" you will be presented with 4 launch options, one of which is dusk hd
3) you can set the default launch parameter of dusk to be dusk hd in the application settings, your shortcut will then launch the hd version.
The HD looks ridiculously good.
launch dusk singleplayer
multiplayer
or moddable
where is HD option?
Did you install Dusk HD from the store page?
It's separate content, you have to manually install it. It's farther down the page where DLC content is listed, with the Soundtrack, and Goodies.
Once it's installed, then you should get the option to select it when you go to launch the game. So in addition to Dusk singleplayer, multiplayer, moddable, there should be an option for Dusk HD. If you don't see it after installing it, then try restarting Steam or verifying files. But you have to install it before it's available.
Clicking [download] on the DLC on the store page instead launches the normal game for me...any ideas?
Same problem.
